PUNE BOSCOITES SHINE AS STUDENT SOLAR AMBASADORS

More than 100 students and 10 teachers marked their remarkable participation in the 'One Million Mission' an initiative of the IIT Bombay and the Government of India of making solar lamps. The initiative was aimed at encouraging students to use more of green energy. It was an educative event to commomorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
The students and staff paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers to his image.The students were also shown a video based on Gandhijis life. The master trainers-Fr Bosco D'Mello, TR.MANJUSHA, Sir Suryakant, Tr Varsha, Tr Nancy, Sir Ashish, Sir Prashant, Sir William led the students into the hands-on making of the solar lamps. Principal Fr.Bosco guided the students stepwise and all the students succeeded in assembling the solar lamps. Some of the parents also enthusiastically took part in the event.In his message Fr Bosco D'Mello said,"This kind of an activity will make students more responsible towards the environment. It is a small step, a beginning that will result into a more serious and larger practices in life." The students were very happy and proud to assemble a solar lamp on their own and carry it home.
Sir Suryakant, Sir Ashish and the team of trainers, under the guidance of Fr Bosco, made the event a grand success.
