BE CONTRIBUTIVE CITIZENS CITIZENS: PROVINCIAL FR.SAVIO SILVEIRA PUNE, JAN 16: The newly chaired Provincial of The Bombay Salesian Society paid a holy visit to DB Educomplex Pune today. The complete complex was eagerly waiting to welcome the newly officiated Provincial Rev.Fr. Savio Silveira. Fr.Savio has been chosen as the 11th Provincial of the Don Bosco Province of Bombay region. At his arrival in the morning, Fr.Provincial was welcomed and escorted by the scouts and guides to the school hall. Fr.Savio was felicitated and welcomed at the hands of our Rector Rev.Fr.Michael Bansode with a sapling. Our Principal Fr Bosco D'mello welcomed the Provincial with a shawl. Fr.Mihael, the Retor introduced Fr.Savio to the gathering. On this occasion, the students of STD. VIII-B presented their class assembly on the theme of Citizenship and Pledge, under the guidance of their class teacher Ms.Lucia Gaikwad. A personalised citation was read and offered to Fr.Provincial at this occasion. In his words of guidance, Fr.Provincial touched a number of aspects related to the institution b life of Don Bosco, life of students, teachers etc. He admired the dedication and efforts of the staff for maintaining the standard of the institution pretty high. Fr.Savio said,"Each one of us should become a contributive citizen. We must contribute to life of others." He further advised TO introspect ourselves by asking what can I do for others. Fr.Provincial shared a story from Don Bosco's life. He appealed the gathering to take a pledge of focusing on others, instead of focusing on self. Fr.Provincial was overwhelmed with the warm welcome at DB,Pune. Fr.Savio also met all the teachers after the programme and addressed them in a meeting. Principal Fr.
